Yes, a Trump has wanted to build a wall for a long time.

Even in 1958. That's when a fictional character named Walter Trump, played by actor Lawrence Dobkin, appeared on the TV Western "Trackdown" with the promise of salvation through building a wall around town.

"I bring you a message, the world will come to a flaming end at midnight tonight," says Trump, who is bald and has a mustache, in the episode. "Trust me. I can build a wall around your homes that nothing will penetrate."

One cowboy in the crowd hears enough.

"You're a liar, Trump!" he shouts. He's  shoved by another cowboy and unrest ensues.

Part of the episode was shown as an intro for the U2 song "Exit" on the band's "The Joshua Tree" 30th anniversary tour in 2017, including the band's show  on June 28 of that year at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

Interest in the Trump episode was renewed this week when TV screenwriter Alex Hirsch tweeted about it.

On "Trackdown," Trump, who looks a little like Donald Trump's father, Fred Trump, gets the locals riled up. The con man eventually gets arrested and then shot.

"When we were kids, we were all afraid of the dark. And we grew up and we weren't afraid anymore. But it's funny how a big lie can make us all kids again," says the local judge on "Trackdown."

The Trump episode was called "The End of the World." Robert Culp, who later starred on "I Spy" with Bill Cosby, was the lead on "Trackdown."
